Can post installed rebar resist both shear and tension loads?

Hi John,

In order to resist both shear and tension loads it depends what method was used to design the rebar.
If the designer followed SA TS101 / AS 5216 or used Hilti's PROFIS software, then the rebar can resist both shear and tension loads.
On the other hand, if the Hilti rebar method (strut and tie) was followed, then then rebar can only resist tension loads.
